An S-rank playthrough of the game's levels by Octal-plus has gained over 1.1 million views (shown below, left) and an S-rank boss run by selpix gained over 5.5 million views (shown below, right). Videos of gameplay have done well on YouTube, however. The game has a modest online presence, with over 1,600 likes on Facebook and 450 Reddit followers. Nintendo Life said of the game, 'It injects pure joy into the oppressive, pulsing panic of Super Hexagon and creates a celebratory explosion of the audio-visual in video games.' The game was very positively reviewed, gaining a score of 83/100 on Metacritic. The same day, a 'hardcore' mode for the game was announced. It was released for the Playstation 4 in the US on May 10th, 2019, and Europe, Russia and Australia on May 30th.
